Ergin Ataman stood tall and did not remain silent in his swearing! The Greek league entered a crisis after the "If it happens again, I will do it again" challenge

- Update:

Ergin Ataman, who put the Olympiakos fans who were cursing Türkiye in their place, said, "If it happens again, I'll do it again." The championship series may be cancelled.

The fight between two of Greece's oldest clubs has caused chaos in the country. In the second match of the basketball final series played at Olympiacos' home ground, the home team's fans chanted obscene words against Türkiye as well as against their opponents.

UPRIGHT STANCE FROM ATAMAN

Panathinaikos coach Ergin Ataman got into a fight with the fans and was sent off for this. After the match, he said, “I will not let you swear at my country. You can swear at me but you cannot swear at Turkey.” Regarding the series that was interrupted, Ataman said, “If it happened again, I would do the same thing again.” Oympiakos president Giorgos Angelopoulos called for Ataman to be arrested.

THEY DON'T COME TOGETHER

As the crisis between the two clubs escalates, the Greek government has postponed the third match of the series indefinitely. In response, Greek Sports Minister Giannis Vroutsis invited Panathinaikos President Dimitris Giannakopoulos and Olympiakos co-presidents Angelopoulos brothers to his office to call on their fans to exercise restraint. However, both sides responded negatively to this invitation. Therefore, in the current scenario, it does not seem easy for the Greek League final series to continue. The series is tied 1-1. The third match would normally be played tonight at Panathinaikos' home stadium, OAKA.

THEY WILL BE PUNISHED

"We are determined to prevent violence in sports. The government has proven with actions, not words, that there is no tolerance for violence and crime, whether in stadiums, universities or anywhere else. If there are penal and disciplinary responsibilities of the two teams, they will be implemented. If this tension does not subside, the championship will be suspended," said Greek government spokesman Pavlos Marinakis.
